The Forestry & Industrial Equipment Division
of Blount, Inc. featured their new Series 70 line of Hydro-Ax rubber-tired
feller-bunchers at EXPO 2001 in Atlanta July 19-21, 2001. The Series 70 line
was introduced to dealers in March and interest in the new series has been
strong.
The key feature of the Series 70 line is visibility, which is immediately apparent when you see the machine for the first time. The large, curved windshield provides excellent visibility, and the reverse-slope design reduces glare and helps shed water and debris.
Two models, the 570 with 185 hp and the 670 with 205 hp, were shown at EXPO 2001.
Blount also featured their Fabtek line of cut-to-length harvesting equipment, displaying the FT133 tracked carrier with an 18" fixed processing head and the FT548C forwarder. The Fabtek line offers loggers a tough, durable, economical line of harvesters, forwarders and processing heads with simple, user-friendly designs.
Rounding out the Blount display was the Prentice 384 Total Merchandising System, featuring the 384 loader, 400 delimber, 42IP slasher and D48 trailer. The 384 loader has excavator-type hydraulics customized for timber harvesting, which provides the speed and smoothness of an excavator.
